Gender & Social Inclusion Unit (GSIU)
This unit focuses on the mainstream of Gender in employment and development processes and the respect for fundamental Human Right in all labour sectors/private sectors.
Responsibilities
- To develop gender responsive system and unit in all private entity/businesses that engender the gender equality and social inclusion of all persons in its employment.
- To mainstream gender equity polices, programs and their implementation as it relate to labour.
- To conduct awareness against discrimination, sexual harassment and Gender based Violence at workplaces.
- Advocate for and monitor MOL efforts to engage in gender-responsive employment.
- Lead developing factor towards the gender equity regulation.
- Engaging and participating in consultation in hearing from woman about their issues.
- Coordinate and facilities the efficient exchange of information and knowledge between relevant Ministries and Agencies including the MGCSP on issues related to gender sensitivity employment.
- To collect and report gender responsive data that will help the ministry in taking decision as it relates to employment and advocacies.
Achievement
- Established an in-housed grievances committee to addressed issue within the ministry of Labour.
- Conducted a gender balance audit of how many male and female working at the ministry of Labour as it responds to their status.
- Fully represented the Ministry of Labour at the 16 days of activism
- Successfully conducted a Gender audit at the private sectors located in Montserrado as it related to the total male and female that work with them, we also advise them on issue around employment that will serve as a benefit to the Liberian people.
- Engaged in meetings with Ministry of Gender, UN Women etc.
- Fully participated in the World international Day Program.
- Represented the ministry at various activates in and out of Monsterrado.
