Anti-Human Trafficking Secretariat

The National Anti-Human Trafficking Task-force was constituted on October 27, 2006 by the Government of Liberia under the leadership of former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. This was in fulfillment of Article Two section one ‘’A’’ of the Act to ban trafficking in Liberia and this Act was enacted into law by the National Transitional Legislative Assembly on June 14, 2005

In fulfillment of its duties, the national Anti-Human Trafficking Task-force is committed to the combat of one of the most dehumanizing crimes against human existence in our new dispensation, human trafficking otherwise known as modern day slavery. The Task-force as an inter-agency institution coordinates the effective usage of resources in order to collectively strengthen individual member ability to protect persons vulnerable to the crime. 

The Trafficking in Persons Secretariat is the administrative arm of the Anti-Human Trafficking Task-force of Liberia that runs the day to day activities of the Task-force.
