Profile of Hon. Emmanuel Zorh, Jr.

Hon. Emmanuel Zorh, Jr., is an administrator, and an advocate of social justice, influencing equity, dignity of work and workers and the participation of all persons at various levels of life’s stratifications, regardless of background, gender, tribe, age, creed or other acquired and achieved status. His workings are interwoven with people’s network; always endeavoring to identify key social justice needs of the underprivileged and employing necessary conciliatory and regulatory means to ensure that these rights are fully protected. He was born in the City of Sanniquellie, Nimba County onto the union of Mr. Emmanuel Zorh, Sr. and Mrs. Veral Kou Zorh.

Hon. Zorh began his early childhood education at the New Sanniquellie Pre-Primary and Elementary School in Sanniquellie City, Nimba County, Liberia and progressed to the Junior and Senior High Divisions at the Shirley L. Harrison Memorial (SDA) High School, Sanniquellie, Nimba County where he obtained High School Diploma. Not being complacent with the foundational education acquired, he leaped forward to the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University in Monrovia, where he obtained his Baccalaureate Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. In advancement of his professional expertise, Hon. Zorh earned a capacity building certificate from the International Narcotic Control Board in Casablanca, the Kingdom of Morocco, subsequently participated in Cyber Reading Assessment and became an expert in Substance Narcotic Drug Identification, following training and application of these investigative sciences. He also received extensive trainings in Labour Inspection and Administration from the African Regional Labour Administration Center (ARLAC), based in Harare, Zimbabwe and got appointed to the status of Administrator of that body while at the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland in 2024. In the spirit of sophisticating his educational credentials, Hon. Zorh enrolled in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Graduate School Program where he is a candidate for Degree of Masters in Police Administration.

Hon. Zorh has a wide range of work experience in various scopes of employment that cuts across both public and private sectors, with exceptional performance in corporate administrative roles and that of government. As a build-up to his impeccable work experience, Hon. Zorh worked in several strategic roles across different institutions including, Legal Assistant at the National Bureau of Concessions (NBC), County Coordinator (Nimba), Institute for Research and Democracy Development (IREDD) and Inspector General, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications.

As a stakeholder, he has been involved with community service, advocacy and activism; putting himself at the first line of defense for people who are defenseless and powerless to face individuals, groups and systems that infringe on their rights. Hon. Zorh is President Emeritus of the community development initiative, Union of Nimba Association.

Since the appointment of Hon. Emmanuel Zorh, Jr. by His Excellency Joseph Nyumah Boakai, he has not only been working to improve job security for workers but also, he has been making every effort to pave the way for a more equitable world of works in Liberia; using his expertise in conflict management to engage employers and employees in the settlement of labour related issues growing out of workplaces.
